John Stenersen combines free-lance assignments and own photography projects with teaching photography at Lofoten folkehøgskole.
He started as a photographer in Oslo in the late 1970’ies, and worked for the newspapers Verdens Gang and Dagens Næringsliv, and the agency ScanPix.
He is a member of Forbundet Frie Fotografer (Art Photographers Association) and has participated in a number of exhibitions in Norway and abroad. Some of his work is exhibited at Engelskmannsbrygga in Henningsvær in Lofoten.
After moving to Lofoten in 1995, John Stenersen has mainly worked in the field of nature documentary, and his work has among others resluted in four richly illustrated books.
